We took the fun-loving, shreddy spirit and adjustability of the beloved aluminum Chameleon and added a lighter, faster, more advanced version of the species. It’s a do-it-all hardtail that is as happy making the most of backyard booter (mis)adventures as it is fully-loaded with camp gear and a color-matched dangle mug.
The Chameleon changes to suit its environment. Twenty-niner or 27-plus, geared or single-speed, this adaptable hardtail utilizes a suite of simple, swappable dropouts to convert it from aggro trail charger to single-speed racer to husky bikepacking mule, or anything in between.
Depending on setup and skill level, the Chameleon is capable on a wide range of terrain—aggressive trail riding to jump lines to all-around use. Going for maximum speed and rollability? Go 29er. Riding mostly loose terrain? Get some Plus tires that provide traction for days.
The most versatile bike in our range ticks even more boxes.
Can I put a chainguide on the Chameleon C?
Yes! It comes with ISCG05 tabs, so it's easy to bolt a chainguide on.
What kind of brake mount does the Chameleon C use?
Both of the stock geared dropout options are Post Mount 160. The aftermarket Single Speed dropouts use an IS160 mount
What kind of headset does this bike use?
This bike uses integrated headset cups. The upper up is 41mmand the lower cup is 52mm. The SHIS name is IS 41/28.6 IS 52/40.
What size fork should I use?
Our recommended setup is 120mm for 29er and 130mm for 27+ bikes. This makes for similar angles and BB height between wheel sizes. Feel free to mix-and-match or put longer on there if you wish. We'd suggest a max travel of 140mm for optimal handling
What size tire can I fit?
The Chameleon C will accommodate up to 29x2.5 or 27.5x3.0. If you adjust the dropouts back a bit (lengthen chainstays) you can fit some 29x2.6 tires as well
